Who I Am.

A recent Cal Poly Pomona graduate seeking full-time data science opportunities.

I'm seeking full-time opportunities in data science positions where I can develop my programming, data modeling, and analytical skills. I'm passionate about innovating the automotive, powersports, and tech industries with new computational techniques and complex data analytics.

As a recent graduate from Cal Poly Pomona, with a B.S. in Business Administration: Computer Information Systems with an emphasis in Business Intelligence, I have a very diverse background in computer science, data science, consumer insights, research, and analytics. I am most experienced in programming with R, Python and C++, data analysis, and versioning software. I have demonstrated my leadership and technical skills by leading 6 virtual workshops on Programming with R and by managing a team of students to win 2nd place at the national GfK NextGen Data Science Hackathon in March 2020. In my free time I enjoy camping, off-roading, cycling, and repairing/building electronics to expand their features or improve usability.

A Few Accomplishments

The R Workshop Series

As part of my involvement in the Center for Customer Insights and Digital Marketing, I was given the opportunity to host a workshop series on the R programming language. The R Workshop Series was a six-part virtual workshop series that attracted over 100 participants including students, professors, and industry professionals from Disney. Over 25 certificates of completion were granted to participants who attended all six live workshops. The recorded workshop series will be used for incoming graduate students as well as a potential revenue stream for the Center.

GfK NextGen Data Science Hackathon

The GfK NextGen Data Science Hackathon Competition is a 10-day, two round, hackathon. I led a team of four to the final round and ultimately was awarded second place. Automotive and consumer data was analyzed to develop a pitch for our product. My team was judged by a panel of industry professionals from Kia, Hyundai, and Team One.

PySpark Data Analysis

As part of a class project, I utilized PySpark and AWS to analyze used car listings. The standout feature of this project was the outlier analysis pertaining to used vehicles as well as the cleaning of user inputted data. This cleaned data would go on to be used in machine learning applications.
